My Background

I graduated in 1999 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Painting specialising in figurative work. My oil paintings have always depicted the figure and the human form continues to fascinate me. I love Life drawing, I love the intensity, speed and instant gratification of working under pressure in life drawing classes, and as a result I rarely spend more than 30 minutes on each drawing.
I also have a keen interest in printmaking and Mural Art. I use photography and collage to support my paintings and work with sketchbooks and study contemporary artists in a way not dissimilar to that of my students. I try to progress my working knowledge by teaching and learning alongside my students, especially those at GCSE level and above.
I have been teaching Art and Design and Photography since 2001.
